In Person Counselling

Youth and adult counselling offers significant benefits, providing a safe space to express feelings and improve mental health. It equips people, especially young minds with coping skills and fosters resilience, encouraging healthier relationships and better communication for personal growth.

direct billing

Direct Billing

We offer direct billing with some extended health insurance providers. We are registered with Telus Health, Green Shield, and others. Currently, those who have Sunlife or Pacific Blue Cross coverage must pay and submit their receipt themselves. Please ensure your plan accepts direct billing and is covered for counselling with Registered Therapeutic Counsellors (RTCc).

walk and talk therapy

Walk & Talk Therapy

Walk and talk therapy combines physical activity with conversation, increasing movement and reducing anxiety. Nature provides a relaxed environment for open dialogue, helping clients feel at ease and facilitating deeper discussions. Movement stimulates creativity, making the therapeutic process dynamic.

inclusive

Inclusive & Trauma Informed

B4 Wellness is a safe space for everyone. We offer support to people of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and cultures. We also understand that trauma can impact us in ways that are difficult to understand and it takes time to unpack and heal from those difficult experiences.

Modalities We Can Use

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Somatic Therapy

CBT helps people identify unwanted, distorted, unhelpful thoughts that adversely affect emotions and behaviours. After identifying these patterns, people can learn how to challenge them and develop more adaptive skills for the future. It is often used when someone has anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, eating disorders, phobias, and other personality disorders.

Somatic therapy is a body-focused approach. Someone may want to use these mindfulness based techniques to improve mind-body connection and release stress and trauma. It is often used when someone has chronic pain, anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, and PTSD.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Psychodynamic Therapy

ACT is often used when someone would like to improve the way that they react to issues that arise and helps with identifying values and creating awareness and allowance of thoughts and emotions. It is often used when someone has anxiety, depression, chronic pain, eating disorders, unmanageable stress, obsessive compulsive disorder, and substance use concerns.

PDT is applied when someone would like to gain insight into the root of a problem. This therapy helps improve relationship dynamics and uncover unconscious connections to the here and now. It is often used when someone has anxiety, depression, substance use concerns and PTSD.

Existential or Spiritual Therapy

Integrated Therapy

Existential and spiritual therapy can help when there are profound questions or concerns about life, our purpose, our connection to the other side, and our connection with a higher power or sense of self. This can help when someone is dealing with uncertainty in life, anxiety, depression, grief or loss, and other concerns.

Using an integrated or eclectic approach is very common. By assessing each concern individually and applying specific techniques from a broad range of modalities there are numerous benefits and many conditions that can be treated accordingly.
